Recharge the body's bioelectric system
What is PEMF?
PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy) uses low-frequency electromagnetic pulses to support microcirculation, enhance tissue healing, promote detoxification, and restore cellular energy. Originally developed by NASA to prevent bone and muscle loss in astronauts, PEMF is now one of the most versatile and well-researched modalities in functional wellness.
Hamptons BioMed uses the Pulse PEMF system, delivering low-frequency electromagnetic pulses that align with the Earth's natural geomagnetic frequencies. These pulses work at the cellular level, targeting ion exchange, mitochondrial function, and microcirculation, to support the body's innate ability to repair, regenerate, and restore balance. PEMF is FDA-cleared for specific applications including bone growth stimulation, and has an extensive evidence base spanning pain management, tissue healing, and cellular health.
How Pulsed Electromagnetic field therapy Works
The science behind PEMF
Your cells are bioelectric, they maintain a voltage that drives all cellular functions. Over time, stress, injury, and chronic inflammation can deplete that charge. PEMF therapy delivers precisely calibrated electromagnetic pulses that restore cellular voltage, support ion exchange across cell membranes, and stimulate mitochondrial activity.
Each session at HBM follows a structured three-phase protocol:
- First 20 minutes: Grounding at 7.8 Hz to align with the Earth's geomagnetic field and establish baseline cellular balance
- Next 20 minutes: Targeted therapy using pads, rings, or cubes applied to specific areas of concern
- Final 10 minutes: Lymphatic drainage protocol at low frequency to support clearance and detoxification
What PEMF may support:
- Microcirculation and tissue oxygenation
- Bone, cartilage, and tissue regeneration
- Pain relief and injury recovery
- Detoxification and lymphatic drainage
- Cellular energy and mitochondrial function
- Maintaining bone density and muscle mass

What to expect with PEMF
your Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy experience

PEMF sessions are approximately 50 minutes and entirely passive. You will recline comfortably while your specialist positions the appropriate applicators based on your goals: pads, rings, or focused cubes for targeted areas. The experience is gentle with no sensation for most clients, though some may feel mild warmth or a subtle pulsing. Hydration and binders are recommended after your session to support the detox process initiated during treatment.

How PEMF FIts your protocol
PEMF works synergistically with Flowpresso and infrared sauna, both of which are ideally scheduled following a PEMF session to amplify lymphatic drainage and detoxification. For pain, injury recovery, or detox support, PEMF is often the first modality we recommend. Your specialist will build your sequence based on your goals.

PEMF Frequently Asked Questions
PEMF has a well-established safety profile and is FDA-cleared for specific applications. It is non-invasive, chemical-free, and well-tolerated by most clients.
PEMF is not appropriate for individuals with implanted electrical devices such as pacemakers, cochlear implants, heart valves, or medication pumps. It should be avoided during pregnancy unless cleared by a provider, and used with caution in cases of epilepsy or bleeding disorders. Uncontrolled congestive heart failure requires medical clearance before use.
Protocol depends on your goals. For pain and injury support, more frequent sessions in the early stages may be recommended. Your specialist will advise a cadence during your first session or Technology Guidance Appointment.
Yes. PEMF pairs especially well before Flowpresso or infrared sauna. It is also commonly used as part of detox and drainage protocols alongside IV therapy and other supportive modalities.
